Daewoo
Pressure Loss / Seal Failure
Multicooker heats but never reaches pressure; steam constantly escapes from lid
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Worn or damaged silicone lid gasket, Misaligned lid, Debris on sealing surfaces, Faulty float valve seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not touch escaping steam. Unplug and allow the cooker to cool and depressurize before inspection.
- Inspect lid gasket: Remove the silicone gasket from the lid groove. Check for cracks, hardening, or deformation. Clean it and the groove with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry.
- Check gasket orientation: Ensure the gasket is installed evenly all around, with no twists or bulges.
- Clean sealing rim: Wipe the top rim of the inner pot and the metal sealing surface on the lid to remove food residue.
- Examine float valve seal: Remove and inspect the small silicone cap on the float valve. Replace if it is cracked or hardened.
If steam still leaks heavily after cleaning and reseating, replace the lid gasket and float valve seal with Daewoo-compatible parts.
