Possible Causes
Worn Start button tact switch, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Firmware lock due to previous error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before removing the control panel.
- Check child lock: Some Daewoo models have a child lock. Look for a lock icon on the display and hold the designated buttons (often + and - or Timer) for several seconds to unlock.
- Panel reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. This can clear minor firmware glitches.
- Inspect keypad cable: Remove the front panel and re-seat the flat ribbon cable between the keypad and main PCB.
- Test button feel: Press the Start button; if it feels mushy or does not click, the tact switch on the PCB may need replacement.
If other buttons work but Start never responds even after reseating cables, replace the keypad/control panel assembly.
