Possible Causes
Worn START key contact on membrane keypad, Moisture under control panel overlay, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Faulty control panel PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before cleaning the panel.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to run into the edges.
- Test other buttons: Check if other keys respond. If only START is unresponsive, the membrane contact may be worn.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test again. Sometimes the keypad controller can lock up.
- Avoid pressing too hard: Excessive force can damage the membrane. Use firm but gentle pressure.
If the START key remains non-functional while others work, the keypad or control panel PCB will likely need replacement by a service technician.
