Possible Causes

Blocked pressure sensor port, Faulty electronic pressure sensor on control board, Kinked or detached silicone pressure tube (if used), Control PCB failure in pressure sensing circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is completely depressurized and cool. Unplug from mains before inspection.

  • Clean pressure valve and lid: Remove the pressure regulator/steam valve (if removable) and clean it thoroughly under running water. Use a soft brush to remove starch or food deposits.
  • Inspect anti-block shield: Under the lid, remove the metal anti-block shield (if fitted) and clean any clogged holes. Reinstall securely.
  • Check gasket and lid fit: Ensure the silicone gasket is correctly seated and not twisted. A poor seal can confuse the pressure sensor.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning and reassembly, plug in and run a non-pressure program first. Then test a short pressure program with water only. If E5 persists, the internal pressure sensor or its tubing is likely defective.

Accessing and replacing the pressure sensor requires opening the housing and may expose you to mains voltage. Seek professional service if the error remains.
