Foaming / Overboil Through Valve
Excessive steam or liquid spurting from the steam release valve during pressure cooking.

Possible Causes
Overfilled inner pot, Cooking foamy foods (beans, pasta, porridge) without enough oil, Clogged anti-block shield or inner lid filter, Incorrect program selection for food type
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not cover the steam release with cloths. Keep face and hands away from the vent.
- Stop the program: Turn off the cooker and allow pressure to drop naturally if safe for the recipe.
- Check fill level: Ensure you do not exceed the recommended maximum for pressure cooking, especially with expanding foods.
- Use oil and appropriate program: Add a small amount of oil to reduce foaming and select a program suitable for beans or grains.
- Clean anti-block shield: Remove the inner lid plate and any anti-block shield over the steam outlet. Clean thoroughly to ensure free flow.
- If spurting continues despite correct usage, inspect and replace the steam release valve and associated gaskets.
