Possible Causes

Inner pot not seated correctly, Deformed or non-original inner pot, Faulty pot presence sensor under heating plate, Loose sensor wiring on main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting internal parts.

  • Check inner pot seating: Remove the inner pot, wipe the bottom dry, and clean any food residue from the heating plate and central sensor area. Reinsert the pot, rotating it slightly to ensure it sits flat and fully down.
  • Use the correct pot: Ensure you are using the original ETA non-stick inner pot or an approved replacement. Non-original or warped pots may not trigger the sensor correctly.
  • Inspect for deformation: Place the pot on a flat surface and check for rocking. If the base is warped, replace the pot.
  • Check sensor area: With the pot removed and unit unplugged, inspect the central spring-loaded sensor pin (if present) on the heating plate. It should move up and down smoothly. If stuck, gently clean around it with a soft brush and a dry cloth.
  • Reset and test: Plug the unit back in, insert the pot with at least 1 cup of water, close the lid, and start a simple program.

When to call a technician: If E2 persists with a correct, undamaged pot, the pot presence sensor or its wiring may be faulty and should be checked by a service center.
