E8 error appears, often accompanied by rapid beeping, and the cooker stops heating.

Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Move away from the cooker and allow it to cool. Only handle the unit once pressure has dropped.

• Release pressure safely: If safe to do so, carefully move the steam release handle to venting using a long utensil to avoid steam burns. Wait until all steam is released and the float valve drops.
• Check fill level: Open the lid and verify that food and liquid are below the MAX line. For foamy foods, fill only to 1/2–2/3 of capacity as recommended in the ETA manual.
• Clean vent path: Remove the steam release valve, anti-block shield, and float valve (if removable). Clean all parts thoroughly to remove starch and residue.
• Inspect valve movement: Ensure the steam release valve rotates or moves freely between sealing and venting positions.

When to call a technician: If E8 recurs with correct filling and clean valves, the pressure control system or safety valve may be compromised. Have the cooker inspected professionally; do not continue using it under pressure.
