Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation openings, Failed thermal cut‑out on heating plate, Loose thermal sensor contact to heating plate, Faulty main control board driving heater continuously
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely. Do not bypass safety devices.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the multicooker is placed on a hard, flat surface with at least several centimeters of clearance around it. Clean dust from side and bottom vents.
- Inspect bottom area: Remove the bottom cover and look for dust buildup, melted plastic, or discoloration around the heating plate and thermal cut‑out.
- Test thermal fuse / thermostat: Locate the thermal fuse or bimetal thermostat attached to the heating plate or chassis. Using a multimeter, check for continuity. If open (no continuity) at room temperature, replace the thermal fuse/thermostat with the same rating.
- Check heater wiring: Inspect heater terminals and wiring for loose connections or signs of overheating. Tighten spade connectors if loose.
- If E5 recurs after replacing safety parts: The control board may be overdriving the heater or misreading temperature. Replace the main PCB and retest.
