Possible Causes
Steam release knob set to Vent instead of Seal, Misaligned steam release cap, Worn or missing sealing ring on valve, Valve stem not seated properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is not under pressure when adjusting the steam release valve.
- Set valve to Seal: Rotate or flip the steam release knob to the Seal position as indicated on the lid markings.
- Check valve seating: Remove the valve cap and verify that the stem is correctly inserted and can move freely. Reinstall firmly.
- Inspect valve gasket: Look for a small silicone ring or gasket on the valve. Replace if cracked, hardened, or missing.
- Clean valve channel: Clear any food residue from the valve channel that might prevent full seating.
- Replace valve assembly: If the valve cannot be set to a stable Seal position, install a new Gourmia steam release valve assembly.
