Possible Causes
Blocked pressure sensor port in lid, Failed electronic pressure sensor, Loose pressure sensor connector on control board, Damaged pressure hose between lid and sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before working on the lid. Never attempt to open a pressurized cooker.
- Clean pressure release components: Remove the steam release valve and anti-block shield from the lid (if your Gourmia model has them). Wash them thoroughly to remove food residue that may block the pressure channel.
- Inspect pressure sensor port: On many Gourmia lids, a small hole or channel leads from the inner lid to the pressure sensor. Use a wooden toothpick or soft brush to gently clear any blockage.
- Check silicone gaskets: Remove the main lid gasket and the small float valve gasket. Clean and inspect for cracks or deformation. Replace if worn, as leaks can cause abnormal pressure readings.
- Internal sensor check (advanced): Some models have the pressure sensor mounted on the lid PCB, others inside the base with a silicone hose. Open the lid cover or base (depending on design) and verify the sensor connector is firmly seated and the hose is not kinked or split.
- Replace pressure sensor: If E4 persists after cleaning and reseating connections, replace the pressure sensor module or lid PCB assembly specified for your Gourmia multicooker model.
