Possible Causes
Inner pot too hot from previous cycle, Insufficient liquid in pot, Food stuck and burning on bottom, Faulty temperature sensor reading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling a hot inner pot. Unplug the cooker before cleaning inside.
- Allow cooling: Remove the inner pot and let both the pot and heating plate cool for 15–20 minutes. Do not add cold water to a very hot pot.
- Check liquid level: Ensure you are using at least the minimum liquid recommended by Gourmia for the selected program.
- Clean burnt residue: If food is burnt onto the bottom of the pot, soak and scrub it clean. Wipe the heating plate gently to remove any residue.
- Restart program: Once cooled and cleaned, reinstall the pot with adequate liquid and restart the desired program.
- Sensor check (advanced): If HOT appears even when the unit is cold, the base temperature sensor may be faulty and should be tested and replaced.
