Possible Causes
Insufficient liquid, Thick sauces settling on bottom, Inner pot not stirred before pressure, Inner pot warped causing uneven contact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before cleaning burnt food.
- Soak and clean pot: Remove the inner pot and soak in warm soapy water. Use a non-abrasive sponge to remove burnt food. Do not scratch the non-stick coating.
- Clean heater plate: Wipe the heater plate gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove any residue. Ensure it is completely dry before reuse.
- Adjust recipes: Add more liquid for thick sauces and tomato-based dishes. Deglaze the bottom by stirring and scraping before closing the lid.
- Check pot condition: Inspect the inner pot for warping or damage. A warped pot may not sit flat and can cause hot spots.
- Replace if needed: If the non-stick coating is badly damaged or the pot is warped, replace it with a genuine GreenPan inner pot.
