Possible Causes
Corrupted control board firmware, Faulty ADC (analog-to-digital converter) on main PCB, Multiple sensor readings out of range simultaneously, Liquid intrusion or corrosion on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspection.
- Perform a hard reset: Unplug the cooker for at least 20 minutes. Press and hold any button for 10 seconds while unplugged to discharge residual power, then plug back in and test.
- Inspect for moisture: Remove the outer housing (if accessible) and inspect the control PCB near the display and buttons. Look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt components. Dry any moisture with a hair dryer on low, keeping a safe distance.
- Check wiring harnesses: Reseat all connectors from sensors (bottom NTC, lid sensor, pressure sensor) to the control board. Ensure no pins are bent or corroded.
- Replace control board: If E6 persists after resets and wiring checks, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct Hamilton Beach part number for your model.
