Possible Causes
Worn or stretched lid sealing ring, Steam release valve not fully closed, Damaged float valve gasket, Debris on lid rim or sealing surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Unplug and allow the unit to cool and depressurize before servicing.
- Verify valve position: Ensure the steam release valve is in the correct Sealed position for pressure cooking.
- Inspect and replace sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. If it is loose, cracked, or hardened, replace it with a genuine Hamilton Beach lid sealing ring.
- Clean lid rim and body rim: Wipe both surfaces thoroughly to remove food residue or rice grains.
- Check float valve gasket: Remove the float valve and its silicone cap. Replace the cap if it is deformed or brittle.
