Possible Causes
Worn or missing float valve silicone gasket, Debris lodged in float valve seat, Bent or damaged float valve pin, Incorrectly installed float valve components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and fully depressurize before disassembling the float valve.
- Disassemble float valve: Remove the small retaining clip or nut on top of the lid and slide out the float valve pin. Remove the silicone gasket.
- Clean components: Wash the pin, gasket, and valve channel with warm soapy water. Remove any food particles.
- Inspect gasket: If the silicone cap is stretched, cracked, or hardened, replace it with a genuine Hamilton Beach float valve gasket.
- Reassemble correctly: Install the gasket on the correct side of the pin and secure with the clip or nut. Ensure the valve moves freely up and down.
