Water or steam leaks from the side of the lid hinge area during cooking.

Safety first: Unplug and allow the cooker to cool before inspecting the hinge.

• Inspect hinge area: Open the lid and examine the hinge side for cracks or missing silicone plugs.
• Tighten hinge screws: Use a screwdriver to snug any loose hinge screws, being careful not to overtighten and crack the plastic.
• Replace hinge gasket: If your model uses a small gasket or plug at the hinge, replace it with the correct hinge gasket / plug from Hamilton Beach.
• Replace lid if cracked: If the lid housing is cracked near the hinge, replace the entire lid assembly.
