Possible Causes
Blocked pressure release valve, Clogged float valve or anti-block shield, Faulty pressure sensor on lid or chassis, Kinked pressure sensor tube (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker. Allow all pressure to release completely before opening the lid. Never attempt to open a pressurized cooker.
- Clean the pressure release valve: Remove the steam release valve cap from the lid (if removable). Wash it under warm water and clear any food particles or starch buildup.
- Inspect the float valve: Remove the inner lid (if fitted) and check the float valve pin and silicone cap. Clean thoroughly and ensure the pin moves freely up and down.
- Check the anti-block shield: If your Hisense model has a metal anti-block shield over the steam outlet, remove it and clean both sides to remove clogs.
- Examine the pressure sensor area: On some models, a small pressure sensor or tube is located under the lid or inside the top housing. Inspect for kinks, cracks, or dislodged tubing and reseat any connectors.
- Reset and test: Reassemble the lid components, ensuring the silicone gasket is correctly seated. Run a water-only pressure test (2–3 cups of water) to see if E3 reappears.
- If E3 persists: The pressure sensor module may be defective and should be replaced with a compatible Hisense pressure sensor assembly. This repair is best done by a qualified technician due to safety implications.
