Possible Causes
Corrupted control board firmware, Failed microcontroller on PCB, Shorted keypad or touch panel, Internal power supply fault on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before any inspection.
- Power reset: Unplug the cooker for at least 10 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge, then plug back in and try again.
- Check for moisture: Inspect the control panel area for signs of liquid ingress (condensation, spills). If moisture is present, leave the unit unplugged in a dry, warm area for 24 hours.
- Inspect the power cord and plug: Ensure there is no damage or overheating at the plug or cord entry.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the outer housing screws to access the main PCB. Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or damaged tracks.
- Keypad/touch panel check: Disconnect the keypad or touch panel ribbon cable from the PCB and power on briefly. If E6 changes or clears, the panel may be shorted and require replacement.
- Replace PCB if needed: If obvious PCB damage is found or E6 persists despite checks, replace the main control board with a Hisense-compatible module. This should be done by a qualified technician.
