Possible Causes
Failed pressure sensor, Loose or damaged pressure sensor wiring harness, Moisture intrusion into pressure sensor, Faulty main control board (PCB)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before any inspection. Do not attempt to bypass the pressure sensor.
- 1. Power cycle: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then plug back in and try a simple program. If C6 reappears, continue.
- 2. Inspect lid and steam release: Remove the lid and check the steam release valve, float valve, and anti-block shield for heavy buildup or blockage that might affect pressure readings. Clean thoroughly.
- 3. Check for moisture: If the cooker was recently washed or exposed to steam around the control panel, allow it to dry for 24 hours in a dry area.
- 4. Listen for loose parts: Gently shake the cooker (unplugged). A rattling sound from inside the housing may indicate a broken pressure sensor or bracket.
- 5. Do not open housing if not qualified: The pressure sensor is mounted inside the lid or base (depending on model) and is wired to the PCB. Replacement requires disassembly and working near mains voltage.
- 6. If C6 persists: Contact Instant Brands or a qualified appliance technician to test and replace the pressure sensor assembly or main control board.
