Instant Pot displays C7 and may not heat properly or complete the program.

Safety: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely before inspection. Do not operate with the base open.

• 1. Confirm symptom: Start a Saute program. If the inner pot does not heat up at all and C7 appears, suspect a heating circuit issue.
• 2. Check power source: Test the outlet with another appliance to ensure proper voltage. Avoid extension cords or power strips.
• 3. Inspect heating plate surface: Remove the inner pot and check for burn marks, cracks, or deformation on the heating plate. Severe damage indicates internal overheating.
• 4. Smell test: With the unit unplugged, smell around the base vents for burnt electronics odor, which suggests a failed heating element or PCB component.
• 5. Internal testing (technician level): A qualified technician can open the base, measure resistance of the heating element, check continuity of the thermal fuse, and test the power triac/relay on the PCB.
• 6. If heating element or fuse is open: Replace the heating element assembly or thermal fuse with the correct Instant Pot part. If the PCB is burnt or the triac is shorted, replace the main control board.
