Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Melted sensor insulation from overheating, Moisture bridging sensor contacts, Shorted traces on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug immediately. A shorted sensor can indicate overheating or internal damage.
- 1. Allow to cool: Let the cooker cool completely if it was recently in use.
- 2. Inspect sensor area: Remove the inner pot and check the center sensor and surrounding area for burnt food, melted plastic, or scorch marks. Do not use if severe damage is visible.
- 3. Dry thoroughly: If the unit was exposed to heavy steam or liquid spills, allow it to dry for 24–48 hours in a warm, dry location.
- 4. Retest: After drying, plug in and test. If E2 persists, internal components are likely damaged.
- 5. Professional repair: A technician should open the base, inspect the sensor wiring for shorts, and test the sensor resistance. Replace the temperature sensor harness and/or main control board as needed.
