Possible Causes

Insufficient liquid in inner pot, Thick or starchy food stuck to bottom, Blocked steam release path causing dry heating, Faulty temperature sensor reading too high

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Cancel the program and allow pressure to drop naturally if under pressure. Do not force the lid open.

  • 1. Check food and liquid: After it is safe to open, inspect the contents. Add more thin liquid (water, broth) to meet minimum requirements and stir well.
  • 2. Clean the inner pot: Remove any burnt or stuck-on food from the bottom. Wash and dry the pot thoroughly before reuse.
  • 3. Avoid thick layers on bottom: When cooking sauces, chili, or starchy dishes, place thin liquid at the bottom and layer thicker ingredients on top to prevent scorching.
  • 4. Inspect heating plate: With the pot removed, check the heating plate for burnt residue. Wipe gently with a damp cloth (unit unplugged) and dry completely.
  • 5. Test with water only: Run a short pressure cook cycle with only water. If E3 still appears, the temperature sensor or control board may be faulty and require service.
