Possible Causes
Steam release valve not in Sealing position, Sealing ring missing or not installed correctly, Lid not closed properly, Excessive liquid foaming blocking vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Cancel the program and allow pressure to drop naturally if any pressure is present.
- 1. Check steam release handle: Ensure the steam release valve or switch is set to Sealing, not Venting.
- 2. Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid, check for cracks, stretching, or food buildup. Clean and reinstall firmly in the groove, or replace if damaged.
- 3. Verify lid closure: Close the lid fully until it chimes or locks. Ensure nothing is obstructing the lid from sealing.
- 4. Reduce foaming: For foamy foods (pasta, beans, oatmeal), reduce fill level and add a bit of oil to reduce foam. Avoid overfilling past the MAX line.
- 5. Run a water test: Try a short pressure cook with only water. If E8 does not appear, the issue was likely recipe-related. If it returns, the pressure detection or venting system may need service.
