Possible Causes
Food residue in lid locking track, Warped lid or pot rim, Misaligned lid handle, Damaged lid locking pin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Never force the lid open if the cooker may still be under pressure. Ensure the float valve is down and no steam is escaping.
- 1. Verify no pressure: Ensure the steam release valve is open and the float valve has dropped.
- 2. Clean locking track: Remove the lid and clean the metal locking ring and mating surfaces on the cooker body.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for bent or broken locking tabs or pins. Do not use the cooker if the locking mechanism is damaged.
- 4. Test with empty pot: With an empty inner pot, open and close the lid several times to confirm smooth operation.
- 5. Replace lid assembly: If binding persists or parts are visibly damaged, replace the complete lid assembly.
