Possible Causes
Steam release handle not set to Sealing, Debris under valve cap, Worn or hardened silicone valve gasket, Damaged steam release valve assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use a long utensil to adjust the valve to avoid burns.
- 1. Check valve position: Ensure the steam release handle or switch is firmly in the Sealing position.
- 2. Clean valve: After the cooker is cool and depressurized, remove the steam release valve and wash it. Clean the valve seat on the lid.
- 3. Inspect gasket: Check the silicone gasket under the valve for cracks or hardening. Replace if worn.
- 4. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the valve and run a water-only pressure test. If steam still escapes continuously, replace the entire steam release valve assembly.
