Possible Causes
Open heating element, Burned heater wiring, Failed heater relay/triac on control board, Overheat cutoff fuse open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before inspection.
- Confirm symptom: Start a Saute program with the inner pot in place. If the bottom stays cold after several minutes, the heater is not energizing.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the bottom cover and inspect the heating element connections and thermal cutoff fuse.
- Test heating element: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heating element. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- Check thermal fuse: Test continuity of the thermal cutoff fuse mounted near the heating element. Replace if open, but also investigate cause of overheating.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the heating element assembly or thermal cutoff fuse as needed. If these test good, the main control board heater driver is likely faulty.
