Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Instant multicooker and allow it to cool completely before any inspection. Never work on the unit while it is connected to power.
- Power reset: Unplug the cooker for 10–15 minutes, then plug it back in and try a simple program like Saute. If C1 reappears immediately, the fault is likely hardware-related.
- Check for liner and base obstruction: Remove the inner stainless-steel pot and inspect the bottom of the cooker interior. Make sure there is no food, liquid, or debris between the inner pot and the heating plate that could have damaged the sensor wiring.
- Inspect sensor area (bottom thermistor): With the unit unplugged, look at the center of the heating plate from above. Most Instant multicookers have a small temperature sensor (thermistor) mounted under or near the center of the plate. From the underside (if you remove the bottom cover, only if you are comfortable and warranty has expired), check that the thermistor is firmly attached to the plate and that its two-wire harness is not broken or burned.
- Check wiring harness: Follow the thermistor wires from the sensor to the main control board. Look for loose connectors, corrosion, or pinched wires. Reseat any plug-in connectors firmly.
- If damage is found: Replace the bottom temperature sensor (thermistor assembly). If the sensor and wiring are intact but C1 persists, the main control board is likely faulty and should be replaced or serviced by a qualified technician.
Do not bypass or short the sensor; this is a safety device that prevents overheating.
