Possible Causes

Defective pressure sensor, Blocked pressure sensor tube, Loose pressure sensor connector, Failed main control board pressure circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure it is fully depressurized before inspection.

  • Clean pressure path: Remove the anti-block shield, steam release cap, and float valve. Clean all parts and the steam release pipe thoroughly.
  • Inspect pressure sensor tube: On many Instant models, a small silicone or metal tube connects the lid or pot interior to a pressure sensor on the control board. If accessible, ensure this tube is not clogged with food or starch.
  • Reseat sensor connector: With the bottom cover removed (if qualified), locate the pressure sensor on the main control board (small device connected to a tube) and reseat its electrical connector.
  • Replace pressure sensor: If cleaning and reseating do not resolve E6, replace the pressure sensor assembly. If the error persists, the main control board may need replacement.
