Possible Causes
Pressure sensor out of calibration, Blocked or leaking pressure sensor tube, Faulty pressure sensor, Control board misreading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure no pressure remains.
- Check sealing components: Inspect the sealing ring, float valve, and steam release valve for proper installation and cleanliness. Replace a stretched or cracked sealing ring.
- Clean pressure path: Remove and clean the anti-block shield and steam release components to ensure accurate pressure sensing.
- Run a water test: With 2–3 cups of water, run a Pressure Cook cycle. If E8 appears before pressure builds, suspect a sensor issue.
- Inspect sensor tube and wiring (advanced): If accessible, check the pressure sensor tube for kinks or blockages and reseat the sensor connector on the control board.
- Replace pressure sensor: If cleaning and inspection do not help, replace the pressure sensor assembly. Persistent E8 after replacement indicates a likely main control board fault.
