Possible Causes
Blocked pressure sensor port, Faulty pressure sensor, Loose pressure sensor connector, Control board pressure circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure it is fully depressurized.
- Clean steam and pressure path: Remove the steam release cap, anti-block shield, and float valve. Clean all parts and the steam release pipe thoroughly.
- Inspect pressure sensor port: On many Instant models, a small port or tube leads from the lid or pot interior to the pressure sensor. Ensure this port is not blocked by food or mineral deposits.
- Run a water test: After cleaning, add 2–3 cups of water and run a short Pressure Cook cycle. If 'PrSE' reappears, suspect a sensor or board fault.
- Internal inspection (advanced): With the bottom cover removed, locate the pressure sensor and reseat its connector. Check the sensor tube for kinks or cracks.
- Replace pressure sensor: If cleaning and reseating do not resolve the error, replace the pressure sensor assembly. If the issue persists, the main control board may need replacement.
