Possible Causes

Lid not fully closed, Misaligned lid hinge, Faulty lid position sensor, Broken lid latch tab

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged before adjusting hinges or latches.

  • Close lid firmly: Open and close the lid several times, pressing down firmly until you hear a clear click from the latch.
  • Check for obstructions: Inspect the gasket and rim for food debris or warped silicone that may prevent full closure. Clean and reseat the gasket.
  • Inspect hinge: Look at the hinge area for bent metal or cracked plastic. Gently realign if slightly bent; replace if severely damaged.
  • Test sensor: With the unit plugged in, gently press down on the lid above the latch while starting a program. If it starts only with pressure, the lid sensor or latch is worn and should be replaced.

Persistent 'LID' messages usually require replacement of the lid latch or lid position switch.
