Possible Causes
Steam leak at lid gasket, Steam release valve left in Venting position, Faulty float valve seal, Weak heating element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands away from steam vents during operation.
- Check steam release position: Ensure the steam release handle is set to Sealing, not Venting.
- Inspect gasket and float: Verify the sealing ring is properly seated and not twisted. Check that the float valve moves freely and its silicone cap is intact.
- Listen for leaks: During preheat, listen for continuous hissing around the lid. If present, adjust the lid and gasket or replace worn parts.
- Test heating: If there is no steam or heat at all, the heating element may be weak or failing.
If the cooker consistently times out during preheat despite no visible leaks, the heating element or control board should be tested and replaced if necessary.
