Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Blocked float valve, Faulty pressure relief valve, Pressure sensor miscalibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and fully release pressure before disassembly. Keep face and hands away from steam vents.
- Clean steam release valve: Remove the valve knob and internal valve body. Clean all holes with a brush and warm soapy water. Ensure the valve moves freely.
- Check float valve: Remove the float valve pin and silicone seal. Clean any dried food or starch. Reassemble so the float moves up and down smoothly.
- Inspect silicone gaskets: Check the main lid gasket and any small silicone seals around the pressure valves for deformation or damage. Replace if hardened or cracked.
- Water-only test: Run a short pressure program with only water. If E5 recurs and steam does not vent normally, the pressure control components may be faulty.
If cleaning does not resolve E5, the pressure relief valve or pressure sensor may need replacement.
