Possible Causes
Open-circuit main heating element, Blown thermal fuse on heater plate, Burnt heater wiring connector, Faulty relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Do not attempt live testing unless you are trained and equipped.
- Visual inspection: Remove the bottom cover. Locate the heater plate terminals and wiring. Look for burnt connectors, discoloration, or broken wires.
- Check thermal fuse: Many Kenwood multicookers have an inline thermal fuse attached to the heater plate. Inspect for signs of overheating. Testing continuity requires a multimeter.
- Connector reseat: Firmly reseat the heater connectors on both the heater plate and the control board.
- Functional test: Reassemble, plug in, and try a basic program. If E6 returns immediately and the plate does not warm at all, the heater or thermal fuse is likely open.
Replacing the heater plate or thermal fuse involves mains wiring and should be done by a qualified technician if you are not experienced.
