Possible Causes
Damaged lid gasket, Misfitted or dirty sealing ring, Worn float valve seal, Lid not locked correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and fully depressurize before opening the lid.
- Inspect lid gasket: Remove the large silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cracks, flattening, or food deposits in the groove. Clean thoroughly and reinstall, ensuring it sits evenly all around.
- Check float valve seal: Remove the float valve and its small silicone cap. Clean and inspect for wear. Replace if hardened or deformed.
- Check lid lock: Close the lid and ensure it clicks firmly into the locked position. The handle should fully engage.
- Water test: Run a short pressure program with only water. Watch for continuous steam escaping around the lid. If so, the gasket or lid assembly is not sealing properly.
If a new gasket and clean valves do not resolve E9, the lid assembly may be warped and require replacement.
