Possible Causes
Cooker still too hot from previous cycle, Inner pot removed while base is hot, Food burnt on heating plate, Faulty temperature sensor reading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling the inner pot or lid. Steam and surfaces may still be very hot.
- Allow cooling time: Leave the lid open and let the cooker cool for 20–30 minutes. Once the HOT message clears, you can start a new program.
- Clean heating plate: After cooling and unplugging, remove the inner pot and gently clean any burnt-on food from the heating plate with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before use.
- Avoid dry heating: Do not run sauté or sear modes for extended periods without stirring or adding liquid, as this can trigger HOT.
- Check sensor behavior: If HOT appears even when the cooker is cold, the temperature sensor may be faulty and should be tested and replaced.
