Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Obstruction on lid rim, Misaligned lid sensor magnet, Faulty lid open/close sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged before manipulating the lid mechanism.
- Close lid firmly: Open and close the lid several times, pressing down firmly until you hear or feel a click. Try starting a program again.
- Clean lid rim: Remove the inner pot and wipe the lid rim and body rim to remove rice, seeds, or food debris that may prevent full closure.
- Check gasket seating: Remove the silicone gasket from the lid, clean it, and reinstall it evenly. A twisted gasket can prevent the lid from closing enough to trigger the sensor.
- Inspect sensor area: Some models use a small magnet and reed switch to detect lid closure. If you can see a small magnet in the lid ring, ensure it is not loose or missing.
- When to call a technician: If the LID message remains even when the lid is clearly closed and clean, the lid sensor or its wiring may need replacement.
