Possible Causes

Lid not fully closed, Lid lock microswitch misaligned, Lid lock mechanism worn or broken, Lid position sensor wiring loose on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Lagostina multicooker before inspecting the lid or lock mechanism. Never bypass safety switches.

  • Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly. Ensure the silicone gasket is seated correctly and no food debris is trapped around the rim or hinge that could prevent full closure.
  • Inspect lid lock tab: Look at the plastic/metal locking tab on the lid and the latch slot on the body. Clean any stuck food or residue with a damp cloth. Make sure the tab moves freely and is not cracked.
  • Test lid lock click: With the unit unplugged, close the lid and listen/feel for a distinct click from the lid lock microswitch. If there is no click, gently press down on the lid above the lock area to see if the error clears when you power back on.
  • Check lid lock wiring (advanced): If comfortable, remove the top cover (usually screws under the lid rim) to access the lid lock assembly. Inspect the small wiring harness from the lid lock microswitch to the main control board for loose connectors or damaged wires. Reseat any loose plugs.
  • Reset the cooker: Plug the unit back in, select a simple program (e.g., sauté), close the lid and press Start. If E1 persists, the lid lock assembly or sensor is likely faulty and should be replaced.

If you are not confident opening the housing, contact a qualified appliance technician.
