Possible Causes

Steam release valve blocked, Anti-block shield clogged, Pressure sensor detecting pressure when valve should be open, Vent channel obstructed by food foam

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If the cooker is under pressure, keep hands and face away from the steam release. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool until pressure drops naturally if venting is blocked.

  • Manually check valve movement: Once fully depressurized, remove and inspect the steam release valve. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck with dried food.
  • Clean anti-block shield and vent: Remove the anti-block shield and clean all holes and channels with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Inspect lid vent path: Look through the vent path from inside the lid to the valve seat. Clear any visible obstructions with a non-metallic tool.
  • Test with water only: Reassemble, add water, and run a short pressure cycle. Observe venting at the end. If E13 recurs, the pressure sensor may be misreading or the valve seat may be damaged.

Do not attempt to drill or modify vent holes. Replace the steam release valve assembly if it does not seal and vent correctly.
