Possible Causes
Lid temperature sensor open or shorted, Steam sensor contaminated with residue, Sensor wiring harness loose, Faulty NTC sensor in lid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and allow it to cool completely before working near the lid or steam vent.
- Clean steam vent and sensor area: Remove the steam release valve and anti-block shield (if fitted). Clean thoroughly with warm soapy water to remove starch or grease buildup that can affect the lid sensor readings. Dry completely.
- Inspect lid sensor connector: Open the lid and locate the small wiring going from the lid to the body hinge area. Check for pinched, frayed, or broken wires. If accessible, gently press the connector into its socket to ensure it is fully seated.
- Check for moisture: If the cooker was recently washed or exposed to steam, moisture may have entered the lid sensor area. Leave the lid open and let the unit dry for several hours, then retry.
- Reset and test: Plug the unit back in, select a low-temperature program, and start. If E2 appears immediately, the lid NTC sensor is likely defective.
- Replace lid sensor (advanced): Remove the lid inner panel (screws on the inner stainless plate) to access the lid temperature sensor. Note the part number on the sensor or consult Lagostina documentation, then replace with a compatible NTC sensor assembly.
If the error persists after cleaning and drying, professional diagnosis is recommended.
