Possible Causes
Bottom NTC sensor open circuit, NTC sensor shorted to chassis, Sensor wiring harness damaged, Sensor connector loose on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and let it cool fully. Do not work on the base while it is hot.
- Remove inner pot: Take out the removable Lagostina cooking pot and inspect the base plate. Ensure there is no liquid or food residue on the central sensor area.
- Clean sensor contact area: Wipe the metal plate and the small raised sensor area with a soft, dry cloth. Moisture or burnt-on residue can cause incorrect readings.
- Check for deformation: Ensure the inner pot is not warped and sits flat on the heating plate. A warped pot can stress the sensor and cause E3.
- Inspect underside wiring (advanced): Turn the unit upside down (unplugged) and remove the bottom cover screws. Locate the NTC sensor clipped to or embedded in the heating plate. Check that its wires are intact and the connector to the control board is firmly seated.
- Test continuity: With a multimeter, measure the resistance of the NTC sensor at room temperature (typically 50–150 kΩ depending on model). An open or zero reading indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced.
If you are not experienced with electrical testing, have a technician replace the bottom temperature sensor.
