Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before opening or working on any pressure-related parts.
- Clean steam release and anti-block shield: Remove the steam release valve and anti-block shield from the lid. Clean thoroughly to ensure steam can reach the pressure sensor channel.
- Inspect pressure channel: Use a thin, non-metallic brush or pipe cleaner to gently clear the steam/pressure channel in the lid that leads to the sensor tube. Do not enlarge the hole.
- Check silicone hose (if accessible): On some Lagostina models, a small silicone tube connects the lid or chamber to a pressure sensor on the control board. With the top cover removed (unplugged), inspect this hose for kinks, cracks, or blockages.
- Reseat sensor connector: Locate the pressure sensor module on the control board (small rectangular component with two or three wires). Ensure its connector is firmly seated.
- Test with water only: Reassemble, add at least 2 cups of water, close the lid, and run a pressure program. If E5 persists, the pressure sensor itself is likely defective.
Replacing the pressure sensor module requires opening the housing and should be done by a qualified technician if you are not experienced.
