Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board, Damaged touch panel, Moisture ingress into control panel, Faulty microcontroller on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before opening the housing or control panel.
- Dry the control panel: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, leave the unit unplugged with the lid open for 24 hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front/control panel cover (usually held by screws from inside the housing). Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main board. Ensure it is fully inserted and the locking tabs are engaged.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on the keypad connector or board. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Test keypad response: After reassembly, plug in and test each button. If E7 persists or some keys do not respond, the touch panel membrane is likely defective.
- Replace control panel assembly: Order a compatible Lagostina control panel or keypad overlay assembly and swap it, transferring any seals or brackets as needed.
If replacing the keypad does not resolve the issue, the main control board may need replacement.
