Possible Causes
Pressure pin not dropping fully, Residual pressure due to blocked vent, Lid lock mechanism jammed with food, Warped lid or misaligned hinge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Forcing can cause sudden release of hot steam or food.
- Check for residual pressure: Gently move the steam release valve to vent. If steam escapes, wait until it stops completely.
- Tap around pressure pin: Once cool, gently tap around the pressure pin area with a wooden spoon to free any stuck parts.
- Wiggle lid gently: With no pressure present, gently wiggle the lid handle side to side while lifting slightly to free the lock.
- Do not pry: Avoid using tools to pry the lid open, as this can damage the sealing surfaces.
If the lid remains stuck with no pressure, the lock mechanism may be mechanically jammed and should be serviced by a technician.
