Possible Causes
Start button contact worn, Keypad membrane damaged, Ribbon cable loose, Control board not detecting keypress
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before removing the control panel.
- Test other buttons: Check if other keys respond (change modes, adjust time). If only Start is unresponsive, the Start contact is suspect.
- Clean panel surface: Wipe the keypad area with a slightly damp cloth and dry. Do not allow liquid to seep into the panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the keypad and main board.
- Check for cracks: Look for physical damage or creases in the keypad overlay.
If the Start key remains non-functional, replace the keypad/control panel assembly.
