Possible Causes
Moisture behind control panel, Worn membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable, Faulty control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before touching the control panel internals.
- Dry out moisture: If the panel was splashed, unplug the cooker and allow it to dry in a warm, dry place for 24 hours.
- Clean surface: Wipe the panel with a slightly damp cloth and then dry. Ensure no liquid seeps into the edges.
- Test all buttons: Note which buttons fail; if an entire row or column is dead, the ribbon cable or PCB is suspect.
- Reseat ribbon cable (advanced): Remove the housing around the panel and gently reseat the ribbon cable connecting the keypad to the main PCB.
- When to replace: If individual buttons remain unresponsive, replace the control panel keypad PCB or the entire control panel assembly.
