Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector on main PCB, Damaged sensor wiring under the base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and let it cool fully before turning it over or removing any panels.
- Power reset: Disconnect the cooker from the mains for at least 5 minutes, then plug it back in and try a simple program like 'Keep Warm' or 'Slow Cook'. If E2 reappears immediately, the sensor circuit is likely faulty.
- Check for moisture: Turn the cooker upside down (unplugged) and inspect the underside for signs of liquid spills that may have entered through the top. Moisture can affect the temperature sensor. Allow the unit to dry in a warm, ventilated room for 24 hours and retry.
- Inspect the base: If accessible via a removable bottom cover (screws), remove the cover and visually inspect the small temperature sensor clipped to the underside of the inner pot heating plate. Look for broken wires, burnt spots, or a loose plug going to the main PCB.
- Reseat connectors: Gently unplug and replug the sensor connector on the control board to clear oxidation. Do not pull on the wires; grip the plastic plug.
- When to replace: If the wiring is intact but E2 persists, the bottom NTC temperature sensor is likely out of specification and should be replaced with a compatible Lakeland sensor. If you are not experienced with electrical repairs, seek a professional technician.
