Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Blocked anti-block shield, Faulty safety valve, Pressure sensor calibration drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and depressurise completely before removing any parts from the lid.
- Clean steam release valve: Remove the steam release knob or cap and soak it in warm soapy water. Use a soft brush to clear any food residue from the vent path.
- Clean anti-block shield: Detach the metal or plastic anti-block shield from the underside of the lid. Clean all holes thoroughly to ensure steam can flow freely.
- Inspect safety valve: Check the small safety valve (often a metal pin with a silicone cap). It should move freely up and down. If it is stuck, clean around it and ensure the silicone is not torn or deformed.
- Check sealing ring: A badly deformed ring can cause unstable pressure. Remove the silicone sealing ring, wash it, and inspect for cracks or hardening. Replace if necessary.
- When to replace: If E7 persists after cleaning and the cooker seems to over-pressurise or vent excessively, the pressure sensor or safety valve assembly may need replacement. This should be done by a qualified technician to maintain safety certification.
