Possible Causes
Residual heat in heating plate, Inner pot removed while plate still hot, Overheat protection active, Faulty temperature sensor reading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not add cold liquid to a very hot inner pot; it can cause splashing or damage.
- Allow cooling time: Leave the lid open and allow the cooker to cool for 15–30 minutes. The 'HOT' message is often normal and will clear once the base temperature drops.
- Keep inner pot in place: Leaving the inner pot in the cooker helps distribute heat more evenly and may speed up safe cooling.
- Avoid back-to-back high-heat cycles: If you frequently see 'HOT', allow a short cooling period between pressure or sauté cycles.
- Sensor check: If 'HOT' remains even when the cooker is clearly cold, the bottom NTC temperature sensor may be reading incorrectly and require replacement.
