Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Obstruction on rim, Misaligned lid hinge, Faulty lid open/close sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged when inspecting the lid mechanism.
- Remove obstructions: Check the rim of the inner pot and the lid gasket for rice grains, food residue, or utensils preventing full closure. Remove any obstruction.
- Check gasket seating: Ensure the silicone sealing ring is fully and evenly seated in its groove around the lid. A twisted ring can prevent the lid from closing enough to trigger the sensor.
- Close firmly: Close the lid with a firm downward pressure or rotation until you hear the locking click. Then try starting the program again.
- Inspect hinge: Look for a bent or loose hinge that might prevent the lid from aligning correctly. Tighten accessible hinge screws if they are loose.
- When to replace: If the lid is clearly closed but the 'LID' message remains, the lid position sensor or lid microswitch is likely faulty and should be replaced.
